So much drama yet so worth what's coming my way.

In March, I interviewed at an AMAZING office. Great people, overall had a good feeling. I called my mom practically in tears thinking my stressful search for a job is over. Two days later, I got the job offer! I'm thrilled. Not only is it awesome that I have a job (that starts 24 hours after graduation) but it's something I always thought I'd love doing but never thought it was realistic. Needless to say I'm a lucky girl!

To my fellow college seniors: Don't give up! Keep truckin' an apply to every job that looks like it might be something you're interested in. That's what I did and look at me now! :-)

So now that I'm just weeks away from graduation and my new career, I can't wait. I'm over school. I hate doing this busy work and all the little hoops I have to jump through just to get to mid-May.

So how's everyone else been? Excited for summer yet?PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-33802741028572603032010-01-13T23:45:00.005-05:002010-01-14T00:10:34.019-05:00My girl Neti!So over this winter break I made a new friend. We met at a CVS while waiting for takeout from a local BBQ restaurant. Actually my dad introduced us.

Her name is Neti. Neti pot.

That's right she's a "nasal irrigator" by day, lifesafer by night. This little teapot looking thing sounds weird but it's aaaa-mazing. I have a lot of chronic sinus headaches and general "stuffiness." Using this thing once or twice a day works wonders, I can actually BREATHE! It's awesome.

So how does it work? Basically you mix this little saline solution with warm water in this teapot thing. Then you put the "spout" up one nostril (cute I know) and tilt your head and out comes the water out of the other nostril.

Here's a video! It kinda explains a little than directions or my description!

Have you tried the neti pot? Are there any other homeopathic remedies out there that do the trick instead?PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-12861625022068299062010-01-11T23:20:00.003-05:002010-01-12T00:05:42.441-05:00Oh hey!!Remember me?? I'm back!

I know I know... I've been quite the bad blogger. I just felt uninspired and boring, nothing good to talk about!

However, I thought I should get myself back in the game. Not simply to write only interesting things but to keep a "journal" of my life.

This is going to be a big year with graduating, getting a job, moving out of my parents' house (fingers crossed!) and "taking the next step" with the boy! So buckle your seatbelts dear readers, it's going to be quite the ride!!

So what have I been up to since blogging last? Let's list it all!

1. I had a summer internship at a nationally recognized media outlet. It was intense, scary, intimidating, but really a good experience. I was in there when big stories broke and I simply just had to get out of the way to sitting <del>on facebook</del> around looking for stories. Great resume builder but definitely something I couldn't do for the rest of my life. I'm "over" journalism! Good thing I'm concentrating in Public Relations!

2. I started my senior year and my position as managing editor andddd an internship in the Admissions office. So I've been a little busy! The newspaper's doing greaat, I've made quite a number of changes which is exciting. On the other side, it requires a LOT of work. Every Tuesday night, I stay from 3p.m. ish until 4-7 a.m. Wednesday morning. It's pretty rough getting through those Wednesdays with 2-4 hours of sleep. Hopefully this semester will be different!
The internship has really given me the great hands on experience that I wanted. I interview families, read applications, and do a lot of office work. I also give presentations to groups and go to college fairs! It's a lot of fun. I really think this is what I want to do as a career, the only catch is there aren't any positions available there or in the DC/MD/VA area really. Frustrating! But we'll see, I'll keep ya posted!

3.PreppyBF finally met my whole family! That's right, 6 years go by and he hadn't met my aunts, uncles, and countless cousins! They all pretty much live in NY and don't come to visit us so it's not like he's ever had the opportunity. He came up to NY with us this year and I think it went well! My grandmother even bought him a present which I thought was so sweet since she's not that mobile.

4. I applied for some jobs (!) It's pretty nerve-wracking to think I'll need a real big girl job in less than 5 months. The economy's not great but I'm still aiming to get that job asap. I made the mistake a couple weeks ago to apply for "marketing jobs" to find out that they're all tele-marketing. No thanks! I didn't spend four years in school to harass people over the phone. Looks like I'm going to be a "regular" at the Career Center this semester... oyyy

So for now I'm just hangin at home! PreppyBF is doing the law school thanngg with lots of reading so I don't get to see him much during the week. I go back to school on Sunday, with classes starting Monday.

Is there anything you'd like me to fill ya in on? Let me know!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-57691145926236763952009-08-11T14:55:00.004-04:002009-08-11T15:53:40.594-04:00Tiffany and Co or I'll say noJust kidding!!

First off I wanted to say I'm back! My internship's over (thank goodness!) so I have plenty of time to get back to blogging. I go back to school a week from Sunday!

Anywayy today is my parent's 25th anniversary. I met my dad for lunch and headed over to Tiffany's to pick out a present for my mom. We went there thinking we'd get her the Venetian Link bracelet, which my sister and I both have.Unfortunately, they were waiting for a shipment of the bracelets so that option was out. We needed a present for tonight! So we went over and looked at the "diamonds by the yard" bracelets and were sold. It's dainty and understated-- just what my mom likes!

While we were waiting, my dad and I thought we'd wander around the store.. into the diamonds section. Big mistake. Melissa, the nice diamond lady said hi and immediately brought over a big fat engagement ring for me to try on. I was so flustered.. especially with my dad right there! Guess how much it costs.... $60,500!! It was 2 and 1/3 carats. Ridiculous. The diamond was gorgeous.. It was so sad to see it put back into it's case. Thenn to make matters more awkward the sales associate says "yeah when it's slow I go over there and just try on rings, I have the perfect ring just waiting for the guy! But that's a couple years away.." and my dad turns to me and says "So how about you?" I was so caught off guard I just responded "I don't know!" haha oyyyyy....

So I'm off to clean my room and get ready for dinner tonight! I will update on my summer tomorrow!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-25033947958651954602009-05-22T17:27:00.003-04:002009-05-22T17:56:53.761-04:00Tisk Tisk!Hey gang! I'm baack! I'm so sorry I've left you all in the dark lately.. I've been so busy with the new internship, life and work at the pool! I currently have 650 on my google reader.. pretty daunting haha.. Anyway things are going great, the internship is interesting (I'll definitely give you all a recap when I get a chance!)

I'm probably heading to the beach next weekend which leads me to a quick question! Any good beach reads? I'm a big Jodi Picoult fan so I've been reading all her books but they seem to be snatched up at the library! I guess people have the same idea. What books are you reading this summer? Send me your recommendations!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-62355789822172084172009-05-02T20:35:00.005-04:002009-05-02T21:19:07.182-04:00Home Stretch! At 6:30 Tuesday, I will officially be done with junior year! Like Wearing Mascara (except she posts more than I have!), I know I've been fairly absent from the blog world but I pink swear after Tuesday I'll be back to posting regularly. Here's what's standing in between me and Summer 2009:
- Two take home exams (Theology and Economics) due Monday
- Work Sunday night
- Getting my internship approved and squared away so I get college credit!
- Cleaning up the newspaper office and meeting with the advisor
- PR exam
- American History Exam
- Packing up the room! and checking out!
I'm sooo close but it feels so far away! Yesterday I went home to bring some things home so the move home Tuesday won't be so overwhelming. It was also my little sister's senior prom! She looked gorgeous. It was very humid so her hair got a little frizzy but it didn't show up in the pictures. This is the dress she wore!

It's BCBG, veryy pretty! I had the honor of covering the death in my paper. It was a whole lot of work, the story broke around 6PM and we were planning on wrapping up the paper by midnight. Needless to say that didn't happen. I was there until 5:47 and didn't go to sleep until 6:30 to wake up @ 9:30.

I'm really not too upset about the lost sleep. I wouldn't have done it any other way. I'm glad I could put together a tribute, something carefully written- not some news article that looks like the AP covered.

I didn't know the victim really, she worked at the Old Navy so we were familiar (shows how much I shop there!) She always struck up conversation, something I should've been more receptive to doing. I wasn't friends with her but my heart breaks for her family and friends. She was to graduate a week from Sunday. Just shows how nothing is certain, you never know what tomorrow'll bring. I know it all sounds cliche but it's true.

We all lose people we love. It's upsetting and confusing and emotional. Today in my theology class, the professor (who I really admire) gave us a prayer that she found consoling while she was battling cancer. We read it outloud as a class and I couldn't speak. I had a tough enough time keeping back tears. I'll share it with you all since I know a few of you have lost grandparents and loved ones recently.

Be at Peace
Do not look forward in fear to the changes of life;
rather look to them with full hope as they arise.
God, whose very own you are,
will deliver you from out of them.
He has kept you hitherto,
and He will lead you safely through all things;
and when you cannot stand it,
God will bury you in his arms.

Do no fear what may happen tomorrow;
the same everlasting Father who cares for you today
will take care of you then and everyday.
He will either shield you from suffering,
or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace,
and put aside all anxious thoughts and imagination

-Francis de Sales

PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-38611595585437018732009-04-23T16:43:00.004-04:002009-04-23T17:35:52.518-04:00Ohhh happy day!Hey gang! Sorry I've been MIA lately! I've been keeping up with my google reader but no time to actually update! Today I have BIG news!

I GOT TWO INTERNSHIP OFFERS! phew. That feels sooo good to write out. A week ago, I was completely overwhelmed that I didn't hear from the first place I applied and interviewed at. I thought I would have to work at my dad's company (not related to my major at all) and basically gave up hope! Then I went to a job and internship fair at my school hosted by the Career Center. I then met with an alumni who works in a media outlet. We clicked instantly, he actually was sports editor for PreppyU when he went here! I sent him my application that night, hoping this would work out. We scheduled an interview for today! All my fingers and toes were crossed, especially since I gave up hope from the first internship interview.

So today at 3:30, I was waiting to hear from alum interview guy. My phone rang, I took a deep breath and answered the phone. It was that first internship calling! I got the internship! Crazy. I told them I was weighing my options and I'd let them know by Monday. I was shocked, couldn't believe of all days they called today!

Two minutes later I got a call from the alum, the first thing he said was this interview was a formality and that I got the internship. PHEW! I told him why I wanted the internship and we chatted about my pool.

I decided I'm going to take the second offer, mainly because I can't turn down a connection with an alum and it's a little bit more "serious" than the other. It is farther away, a 40 min commute instead of like 15 but totally worth it. The alum also said that they hire a majority of their summer interns when they graduate! Definitely more incentive to go there.

Right afterwards, I called PreppyBF and it hit me. I had an internship and everything worked out. I applied to over 12 places and all that work finally paid off. I even started to tear up on the phone with PBF! It's all coming together and I couldn't be happier!

Now on to PreppyBF's law school hunt. He was accepted to a school but unfortunately their deadline for a deposit was April 15th! CRAZY. He still hadn't heard from other schools so he decided to hope for the best from the other four schools. He wants to go to a school in Virginia, it's more prestigious and has a Republican reputation (icing on the cake!) Fingers crossed he gets in! The other two schools are great too, I'm sure he'd agree that he'd be happy wherever he ends up!

In other news my little sister just put in her deposit for school next year. I went last weekend to her accepted students day and am in love with the campus. It's very similar to PreppyU, minus the fact that it was 4 times bigger! I'm really proud of her, she definitely made the right choice.

Anyway how is everyone? It's supposed to be a wonderful weekend! We have a spring dance on Friday (we have a lot of dances, more than my highschool did! haha) so PBF will be coming up! Very excited to see him and celebrate! I also plan on staying outside as much as possible and heading to the nearby outlets (not serious shopping though.) I need to get moving on cleaning my room! Hope all is well!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-77750374972550489182009-04-07T23:23:00.004-04:002009-04-08T00:45:38.048-04:00Thank GOODNESS!!Hey hey pretty girls! Hope you had an amazing weekend. Mine was jammmmmm packed. I had my event for my event planning/business communications class on Saturday. It was so stressful but all worth it. It is truly something that I'd love to do "when I grow up" (like next year?! ahhhh)
On Sunday, we had an admissions event, went well- I mingled with families from 12-1:30 (lost my voice by the end of it!) and then answered questions until 4. Fun Fun.. Being on my feet all weekend wasn't too desirable either.

So yesterday I did almost the whole layout for the paper. I'm getting more confident with the program so I'm definitely excited to make some changes there. We finished around 1:30 so I went back to my room to start the next task. My 10 page paper for my American History class. Guess when it was due? Yup today. I stayed up until 6 am working on that sucker and decided I would take a 30 min nap. Did that work? Nope! I woke up 2 hours later. Needless to say I didn't make it to 10 pages, I got 9 but what can ya do?! I really had nothing left. Hopefully my professor isn't stuck on that page number. We'll see...

So after tomorrow's classes I'll be going home for Easter break! The one thing I like about being so busy before break makes you really value the time off. So tomorrow as soon as I get home, I'll be headed to the Rehobeth outlets with my mom. I'm so excited. Looking to get some spring outfits and things for possible internships. Don't worry, I will update when I get back!

We'll be driving home the next day and I'll have a date with this little guy.

(Ignore creepy PreppyBF in the background... loser.. haha) Yup my favorite pup and I will be hanging out Thursday! PreppyBF's little sister's birthday is coming up and she requested a trip to Atlantic City. Since they'll need two hotel rooms, PreppyBF needs to go too. Fingers crossed he comes away with some extra cash! haha. I'm excited to hang out with the puggie. I'll probably take him to the lake and walk him so he'll be tired Thursday night. Maybe I'll make my mom come so she can see how much fun he is!

Alrighty chicas I gotta pack, fast. I'm really tiredd and would like to just wake up, go to class, have lunch and head home! Hope you all have an amazing week! I should be back sometime before the weekend to report on the outlets. Take care!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-26222548259301714512009-04-03T23:42:00.002-04:002009-04-03T23:52:11.643-04:00Dear Stink Bugs,
I know you want to come inside when it's not warm out but I really would prefer that you don't come to my room. We've had many run-ins, hence why your relatives are in my vacuum right now. I really didn't enjoy when your buddy landed on my t.v. remote and I didn't realize it until I was flipping through channels. Not cool. If you know what's good for you, I'd hit the road before I declare all out war. I suggest you go bother my neighbor, she's annoying and doesn't throw out her trash regularly so if you were accidentally stomped on and emitted your lovely odor, she wouldn't even know!! I don't have much time, I gotta run to get dinner with A. then head to the newspaper meeting. Today's my grandmother's birthday! I thought I'd share a funny story that she would tell us about her birthday.

When my grandmother was born, her father was waiting outside of the room to hear if it was a boy or a girl. He already had sons, they were hoping for a daughter. The doctor opened the door to the waiting room and told him, "It's a BOY!!" Waiting to hear my great grandfather's reaction, the doctor said "APRIL FOOLS!" And the rest is history.. haha

Off to dinner!! Have a wonderful night!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-87447576439115824812009-03-31T19:09:00.002-04:002009-03-31T20:05:01.284-04:00Happy PreppyGirlHello chickadees! I'm back from class early so I thought I'd update my lovely followers. It wasn't completely warm out today but I wore flip flops! I'm sitting here with the tv on and the birds are chirping their brains out. I looove it! Spring is here, I have a total of 4 weeks of school left, and I can leave the window open!! I love it! At school they pack away the Adirondack chairs for the winter but a couple days ago they were put back out!! I'm very happy, it means Spring is here!! My friends and I love to take walks at night or sit in them when it's too hot in our rooms. When I get back from Easter Break, I hope it'll be warm enough to sit outside!

I can't wait to see Real Housewives of NYC tonight. I absolutely despise Kelly. She's completely self absorbed! Who cares if they put your name on the announcement? She swears she's the best thing since sliced bread. Kelly and LuAnn are truly meant for each other. (By the way LuAnn's getting a divorce?! Haha oyy I wonder how long she'll hold onto her Count-tesssss title!.. Maybe she should write a new book, From Royalty to Reality: The LuAnn Story- because everyone cares what her life really is like!) I love Bethenny and Jill- I think they're the most genuine out of the bunch. Before this whole newspaper gig started to pick up, my mom and I would text each other during the show... it was hilarious! It was kinda like twitter with mommy dearest. Last time I was home, we took a walk and we talked about RHoNYC the WHOLE time. We both decided that Alex and Simon are complete wanna-bes. Who has an inflatable pool and plays it off like they're living the high life??! My mom also pointed out that she thinks they split a townhouse In the episode where Jill is shown the construction zone, they never go up the stairs! Their kitchen, bedrooms are all either on the same floor as the entrance or down the stairs. ODD! Not even going to mention their pathetic Hamptons rental. Pathetic. Maybe they should stop spending their money on "wearable art" and save some to actually "keep up" with the NYC "elite!" Yeahh.. Not a fan of Alex/Simon.. at all.. I don't know why Jill associates with them.

Annnyway I'm going to get some work done before I head back to the PreppyNewspaper Office.. oh! I don't know if I officially announced it yet here though!! I will officially be the Managing Editor for next year!! WOOOOT!! Haha Huge responsibility but I'm definitely excited to make some changes.

Have a wonderful night! Let me know what you think about tonight's episode!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-26238311217263077312009-03-31T13:08:00.002-04:002009-03-31T13:44:34.493-04:00Survey!Hey hey!! We were at Lord and Taylor in the men's shoes section and they had Lacoste and Sperry slip ons (kinda like Vans) for only $15!!! So after PreppyBF bought his shoes, I wanted to go check out the Woman's dept. and see if they had any deals! This is what I came across:
guess how much I got them for!! $23 a pair!!!! I got them in the yellow and also white with navy trim. They were marked down to 30 but my coupon clipper mother had an all day savings pass so they got down to $23! Ridiculous. I was planning on splurging on these this summer but couldn't decide what colors to get. I guess my decision was made for me! It works out well though, the yellow matches a dress I'll be wearing to my sister's high school graduation. (Their colors are blue and gold so the fam will all be wearing one of the two, going to be a cute preppy Christmas picture!)

We also headed to another store to look for black pants. I ended up getting a Calvin Klein gray skirt that is fantastic and then basic black slacks. My mom and I both decided that we'll wait to buy me a suit until I know what kind of internship I'll have. Hopefully I'll find out soon.. we're headed to the Rehobeth outlets as soon as I get home for Easter Break! We're pretty hardcore shoppers haha..

As for the interviews, I think they went really well. I actually heard from the contact I used for the first interview and he said I was "very likeable" and if they have room in their budget/need for an intern they'll have me come back for another interview! The other interview was really relaxed, the director was wearing jeans and a backwards hat?? Weird I know.. I always am a little pessimistic but I think they liked me. The second place would be much more fun and a 15 minute commute versus about an hour. The first one would have a stipend and the second would be for credit. Whooo knows what'll happen! I'm still applying so maybe there'll be more opportunities around the corner! My dad also offered me a position with his firm which I might do part time to add to my resume some more! Time will tell what'll happen but I'll definitely keep you all in the loop! I probably won't go into detail about the companies since they're very easy to guess what they are though. Gotta stay top secret :-)

Today has been quite the lazy day.. I woke up to the sound of PreppyBF calling me at 12:30. I sat around until 1:30ish then got brunch with A. I had a belgium waffle and a black cherry propel. Usually I have a pepsi with waffles (weird I know) but I gave Pepsi up for lent! I started out giving up "colas" for Lent and it's evolved to giving up soda completely. It'll be 3 weeks on Tuesday being "soda sober" haha.. It's so hard, especially at home where it's either water or a can of soda. I usually get my mom to buy me Hawaiian Punch or some type of juice but the last two times I was home she forgot! Grrr..

After brunch I showered real quick and we hit up Rita's!! I used to only be able to get it on the Jersey shore but it's spread all over now! I have two at home and there's one close by to my school. I always get cherry gelatis... It's sooo good, would've been better if it was warm out. It's been misty and cold the whole day.

Anywayy I better clean up a little bit. PreppyBF just called me saying he'll be coming up tonight! I love surprise visits! He's the bestttt<3 I hope you lovely ladies enjoy the rest of your weekend!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-60930445600554316952009-03-25T23:53:00.002-04:002009-03-25T23:59:10.831-04:00I'm back and ready to rockkkk!First off, I really want to apologize for keeping my dear readers out of the loop. It's been a crazy week. I'm at home, I have two internship interviews tomorrow and my laptop battery's about to die. I wanted to let you all know that things will start slowing down again soon and I promise I'll post more often. I have plenty of ideas and stories to share so there won't be any writer's block occurring any time soon! Aghh looks like my laptop's not going to make it through to the end of this post. I should go print out my resume and get ready for tomorrow! Wish me luck! Sleep well girls! Goodnight!!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-55993381575657711412009-03-16T13:39:00.003-04:002009-03-16T15:27:56.394-04:00Creepy.Does anyone else find this video incredibly CREEPY?? Hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! I had two presentations so it was fun to get through the day and enjoy it with the best friend.

It's been a busy week I'm sorry I haven't been good at keeping you in the loop! Next week is going to be even more crazy! I have an meeting with a PR firm next Thursday and an interview with another company. VERY excited.

I decided to come home for the weekend so I can get my outfit together and possibly scope out where I'm headed on Thursday. I'm at PreppyBF's house sitting on the couch typing away with his pug lying next to me. I got home in time for lunch and he made me this yummy pizza. Such a good boyfriend!

Anyway!! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. I'll be shopping, heading to my brother's baseball game, and will probably be around town!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-58625333204904867752009-03-12T22:43:00.004-04:002009-03-12T23:46:23.824-04:00Answers Round 2!

I thought I'd also give you a little update on what's going on with PreppyGirl. The firm has decided if they'll need an intern but fingers crossed I woo them and they offer me a position! I'll keep you updated. Tomorrow I have a tour, two families! Hopefully we won't have any humping cats this time around. A the best friend is going to Ohio tomorrow :-( boooo!! Looks like I'll be doing homework, sleeping, and working out this weekend. Very unexciting. If I'm good maybe I'll head to the outlets. If I'm going to a big firm in two weeks I need a professional-ish outfit! Any suggestions?? I'm completely nervous already. Feel free to email me anytime (apreppygirlmeetsworld at gmail dot com) and I'll answer them in a post!!

Everyone go check out KAG's giveaway! She has a lovely blog and always has good giveaways!

And I thought I'd address the previous post about disgusted I was. Yes, Chris Brown is human and everyone makes mistakes. I think a mistake is hurting someone's feelings or snapping at someone, certainly not beating their girlfriend of a couple years. Would you say that about a murderer? Probably not. Hitting a woman should never EVER be done, let alone make the poor girl go unconscious. Chris Brown may be a great singer but he's off my list. I think people disconnect too much from celebs when it comes to their poor behavior. Would you want your child someday listening to a singer that rapes, abuses, or demeans women in other ways? Probably not.. so why not hold yourselves to the same standard? The media is blowing the event up I will admit but domestic abuse happens way too often and people just sweep it under the rug. The idea that Rihanna deserved it in any way disgusts me to no end. No matter how "not nice" a girl may be, there is no reason for it to end in violence. Oprah summed it up nicely when she said "Love doesn't hurt. If he hits you once he WILL hit you again." I really hope Rihanna comes to her senses and leaves that scum bag ASAP.

OK I'm off my soapbox! Hope you all have an amazing night.PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-47872556473553214222009-03-12T12:53:00.003-04:002009-03-12T13:23:16.346-04:00Disgusted...I will get to your questions tonight, keep posting!! However I encountered something completely sickening that I thought I'd address it here.

I walk into my 11AM class and the girl is wearing a Chris Brown concert t-shirt. I thought okay not something I'd wear, especially hearing what that bastard did to Rihanna. But I move on and somewhat ignore it. However, C.Brown's face was staring at me from the t-shirt which creeped me out haha.. So as my professor's taking attendance, he looks up and sees this girl's tshirt and says "Oh... Are you a fan of Chris Brown? Even with all the legal trouble he's in?" She responds quickly, "yeah I am.. I mean what he did was wrong but whatever."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? just whatever?? so I start to get annoyed.. But it gets worse.

The professor said "interesting.. have you gone to his concerts?"
She responds, "Yeah I go, I went to one in Dec. of last year.. it was the best three hours of my life"
Prof: " You don't think he's a bad person?"
Girl: "Well obviously she must have done something that would make him do that. I've heard she's not a nice person."

I lost it. I wanted to yell at this stupid stupid chris brown fan. I shook my head in disbelief and this other girl spoke up and sarcastically said, "It's like she deserved it!"

I've completely lost all respect for this CBrown Fan. How dare she say this attack is somehow Rihanna's fault. A man should never NEVER hit a woman, regardless of the circumstance. Who cares if she's not a nice person? What was done to her is disgusting and repulsive that people are sticking up for this guy. I can't believe a girl would say it. So if you weren't a nice person, does that give a bf the right to beat the hell out of you? I don't think so.

What are your thoughts on the situation? I know this is long and dragged out by the tabloids but I think the underlying issue at hand should be addressed.

On a lighter note, answers to your questions will be posted tonight. Keep asking away!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-77192470243837189712009-03-11T23:25:00.002-04:002009-03-11T23:57:16.272-04:00Answer Round 1!!thanks to all who wrote comments!! I woke up around 10:30ish and went over to the boyfriend's house. We sat around, hanging out with "chipmunk" aka PreppyBF's little sister haha.. Then we decided to hit up a local lake to take PBF's pug for a walk. I didn't think he would last, especially since it was so warm out but he did! He didn't completely lose it when another dog came around either. The walk clearly wiped him out though, the car ride back I caught him lying down (he never sits let alone lies down in the car!) and when we got home he just passed outtt on the kitchen floor. So cute haha... can't wait to get my own pup!

PBF and his cousin went to the bar so I headed home and had mac 'n cheese that wasn't that great.. Later I went with my dad to cold stone- my faveee but definitely not the best option for someone getting bikini bod ready. I only eat half of a "Love It" which to you non-coldstoners is a medium. I love the "Germanchocolatekake." It has brownie, coconut, pecans, and caramel...mmmmm....The ice cream there refreezes really well too!

No big plans for tomorrow either.. I wish I did since I only have two more days at home! I'd like to get my eyebrows waxed and maybe do some shopping but who knows.... Hope your weekend is more exciting than mine!!!

P.S. Head over to Marvelous Mom @ Lucky in Love and Life! She gave birth to Baby Skylar today! After posting about how much I want spring to come, I realized that summer starts May 5th. Crazy. I don't have enough time to get the things I need to get done!

1. Lose weight- If I'm guarding/managing my water park this summer, I NEED to get back in shape. These Christmas lbs are not cute. I've been working out daily for the past two days (not much I know) but I really need to get this ball rolling. When I get back to school it's going to be studying, working out, and eating right. No vegging out in front of the tv for hours on end. It's not going to cut it anymore!
2. Get an internship- I've talked to my dad about this, he's talked to the PR firm that his company hired. Apparently they have a partner in D.C. that might have something for me.. we'll see about this, I'm not getting my hopes up though. I also plan on talking to my advisor who's a professional journalist, the career center, etc. Any PR ladies out there with some tips? Any PR/event planners out there looking for a summer intern??
3. Get better grades- Once again, I've started slacking. It was more going through the motions waiting for the next break. Now that it's almost over, I've hopefully caught a second wind and can get those grades up.

....this post really resembles my New Year's Resolutions post... sighhh....

I've been doing really well with Lent. I've given up Colas which has in turn meant giving up caffiene- it's been REALLY hard, especially during exam weeks when I get little to no sleep but totally worth it. I feel much better, let alone I'm much more conscious of what I'm drinking. Reese's peanut butter cups and Peanut M&Ms are also on the give-up list. I haven't been as tempted to eat them but I know when Easter comes around those Reeses peanut butter eggs have my NAME on it.

Anywayyy I better get to bed.. Preppyboyfriend is off of work tomorrow and taking care of his little sister (she's 12) who got her wisdom teeth pulled today. She's already eating pancakes and wants doughnuts tomorrow! (CHAMP) Maybe I'll take his family's pug for a nice walk, it's supposed to be 62 degrees here. Should be good walking weather for the pooch, any hotter and he likes to quit. Straight up sit on the sidewalk and give up. You'd have to pick him up or call the house for someone to drive over to pick you up! Silly puggy.. My family doesn't have a dog so he's the closest I have! How could you not looooove that faceee!!

Happy Friday bloggy friends! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and hope to hear from you all soon! Take care!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-30911202887432558892009-03-03T11:55:00.003-05:002009-03-03T14:31:27.488-05:00Spring FeverHello ladies!! Hope this finds you staying warm! We have about 5-6 inches of snow here. Frankly I'm over it. I went to the outlets with my mom and got plenty of spring clothes that I can't even them! I am on SPRING break, the weather should act accordingly! Hopefully this will be the last snow and the temperatures will be onward and upward!

Right now I just finished my french toast (that I made myself woo!) and am watching Who's Wedding Is It Anyway? One of the couples is from MD and he's on the Ravens. It was probably the most expensive yet tacky wedding I've seen! Her veil looked circa 1983 and odd phrases were plastered everywhere to cover up the advertisements inside the stadium.

Yesterday PreppyBF and I spent the day inside. We watched Rob from Rob and Big's new show.. soo funny! Then I wanted to watch Days of Our Lives and the BF refused to watch so he suggested watching Made of Honor! haha It was completely predictable but I love Patrick Dempsey so it was worth the 90 minutes haha.. The chick flicks continued later with Father of the Bride II.. I forgot how much I loved those movies!

Anywayyy I better get moving, I need a shower. Not sure what we're doing today but hopefully going to be celebrating PreppyBoyfriend's LSAT scores tonight or sometime soon! This snow has been quite the party pooper!

Have a wonderful day kiddos! I'll post more about my outlet buys soon!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8735184689430908043.post-28118124208008827452009-02-28T15:51:00.002-05:002009-02-28T22:29:14.911-05:00YAY BOYFRIEND!So PreppyBF got his results of his LSAT score... He scored in the 93rd percentile!! CRAZY... I'm so proud of him! Thank you all for your well wishes too, I'm sure it helped boost his confidence. Now we get to wait and see where he gets accepted.

I'm at home on Spring break... so relieved that this past week is over, I had so much work to do. This next week is going to be purely relaxation. Tomorrow, if the weather holds up I'm going to the outlets in Rehobeth with my mom. Verryy excited, hoping for some deals. My mom's taking Monday off and there's a possibility we'll be getting massages! :-) It's going to be a good time.

Tonight my family and BF went to church and went to an Italian restaurant to celebrate PreppyBoyfriend's score. Had mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini for an appetizer and then salmon which was amazing. BF and I split a chocolate layer mouuse cake. Now I have a food baby and am sitting on the couch with PreppyBF watching a recording of this week's Real World.

Life is good!PreppyGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09778036820948001276noreply@blogger.com2
